Excellent shows this past week

Last night I braved a hail storm and a slow treacherous drive up "opera hill" to go to Santa Fe to see some hot bands going through town: Those Darlins and Diane Coffee.  Both bands were excellent and both have brand new releases within the last month.

Those Darlins, an indie rock group (Garage Rock sound) from Nashville, has two primary female lead singers: Jessi Zazu & Nikki Kvarnes.  They've been releasing music for over 5 years and their new release, "Blur The Line" came out October 1.

Opening the show was Diane Coffee. Diane Coffee is the new band from Foxygen drummer Shaun Fleming, though Shaun is now out front on guitar. The NY band calls their music Psychedelic Motown, and they too put on a great show! Shaun has great stage presence.  Their first release, "My Friend Fish" dropped a week ago on October 29.
